Why do we sign letters with closing phrases such as Sincerely, Best Regards, Love, etc?
I understand that it's all about formality and etiquette. However, in daily conversations, we don't verbalize any kind of closing phrase. We say Goodbye or Thanks sometimes, but who ends a phone call with "Warm regards, Amanda" as they press the end button? The answer would be no one...or so I hope.
Do you ever think about that?
